ABSTRACT

Objiective：To evaluate the clinical value of carotid artery stenting.

Methods：To overview the mechanism, clinical symptom and therapeutic situation of cerebral ischemia due to carotid artery stenosis. The indication, contraindication, preprocedural preparation, operative procedure, postprocedural and common complication management are introduced.

Results：The effect of CAS is better than carotid endarterectomy.

Conclution：CAS with cerebral protection device is more safe and effective than CEA.
